Why this region

The Pine Creek Orogen south of Darwin is one of the NT’s best-known gold provinces and also hosts historic uranium fields. We are assessing ground where both can be tested in one program.

The orogen is built from folded Palaeoproterozoic sediments and volcanics intruded by later granites. Gold typically sits in quartz veins and shear zones within the folded sediments, often close to granite contacts, while the region’s uranium history runs from the Rum Jungle field to the west to the Alligator Rivers field to the east. Base-metal and pegmatite occurrences are scattered through the same rocks.

Next steps

Complete the open-file data review, have targets validated by our geologists, then prepare licence applications and begin Land Council engagement before any field work.
