Why this region
The Amadeus Basin in the southern NT is prospective for sandstone-hosted uranium. Some of its historical ground was given up for policy rather than geological reasons. We are reviewing that record carefully, including community and land-access considerations.
The Amadeus Basin is a broad Neoproterozoic to Palaeozoic sedimentary basin stretching across the southern Territory. Uranium exploration there has focused on sandstone-hosted targets along the basin’s northern margin, south of Alice Springs, where earlier companies outlined mineralisation before ground was relinquished. Base-metal potential in the basin’s older carbonate and shale units is less understood.
